Syracuse Alumni Breaks A Canadian Record

Syracuse Alumni Breaks A Canadian Record

Syracuse’s very own Justyn Knight ‘18 broke a Canadian record in the men’s 1,500 meters at the Boston University Last Chance meet back in February. The Toronto native is signed to Reebok and resides in Charlottesville, Virginia where he is currently training for the Olympics.

I was lucky to have the opportunity to travel to Toronto alongside my classmate and fellow Broadcast and Digital Journalism graduate student Dana Casullo, to chat with Knight on what it meant to him to break a Canadian record. Our trip back to Toronto was one week before we returned home for spring break. Little did we know we would not be returning for the rest of the school year. I had the chance to catch up with Knight recently to chat about how the pandemic has affected his running. You can check out that interview here (link to Social Distance episode 1 blog post).

While Knight was on a short trip back home, we got to tell his story on what it means to him to represent Canada globally.
