The CDC…
NOT the Center for Disease Control. Something even better!
Newhouse offers a variety of tools to students to ensure that they succeed. One of the most useful tools is the CDC or Career Development Center. Below you will find a brief explanation of the services they offer and how you can maximize the center as a resource.
Services offered by the CDC:
1) CDCGradNews: A weekly email newsletters for current students that includes job listings
2) Training sessions on cover letters, resume writing, job interviews and anything else you are struggling with
3) Newhouse Network: Over 3500 alumni contacts can be found in the database
4) Communications Consortium: An annual event that brings employers to campus and allows students to network with them
5) Internship Database: A list of internships across the country categorized by industry or location
The CDC is resource that you will utilize over and over again. I encourage you to turn to them with any career questions you may have. They are always willing to go above and beyond to ensure that you are prepared in your quest for an internship or job. The end goal for all of us is to land a job, so why not start preparing ahead of time?
